FAQ

Can I get my bin serviced after hours?

Yes. Wanless Enviro Services can provide a bin collection service outside the standard 8am – 5pm business hours. This is a good option to consider when space is limited during business hours.

Other people are putting rubbish in my bin. What can I do?

If people are putting rubbish in your bin, they are stealing something you are paying for. Wanless can provide bars, locks, and chains to stop the theft continuing.

The driver left a mess after tipping the bin. Can I complain?

Yes, please let us know as we strive to meet and exceed customer satisfaction levels. Our trucks and bin containers are designed to prevent spilling. We certainly want to know if the designs are not effective.

Unfortunately, some bins get filled passed their fill mark. If this happens it is difficult to stop the spilling from happening. In this situation the driver will take a photo to guarantee the quality of service they provide.

Can Wanless manage all of the waste out-take of my business? If yes, how much?

Wanless Enviro Services offers total waste management and recycling services and can handle jobs of all sizes. Services include, general waste, cardboard and paper recycling, co-mingle recycling, organic waste, metal recycling, document destruction, liquid waste and industrial services.

It is difficult to put a set price down on paper because pricing will differ depending on the type of waste your business produces, the quantity of waste, and how often the bin will need to be emptied. You will need to make contact with your local Wanless Branch to obtain a pricing quotation for your business. To locate your nearest branch visit the Wanless Site Locations Page by clicking here.

Where does the rubbish go?

Different waste streams are directed to different places. That is why Wanless Enviro Services provides specialized collection and transport solutions for each waste stream.

General Waste will go to a landfill site that adheres to the Standards stipulated by EPA. Wanless is developing its own recycling and waste to energy sites that will convert landfill waste into energy.

Cardboard and paper waste is directed to a paper recycling facility. Here, the paper is sorted into different quality levels and will be re-used to produce new paper-based products, such as new cardboard box packaging. Businesses can save money and help the environment by having cardboard and paper recycling bins on-site.

Plastics, Glass and Aluminium are transported to recycling centres. Here the materials are sorted. Plastics are then sorted again into the different types. This is when it is important that customers have separated the plastics before placing in the bin. For example, a milk bottle lid must be separated from the bottle. The two plastics need to be melted down separately in order for them to be recycled.

Horse manure and uncontaminated soils are types of organic waste that can be recycled through a landscaping supplier to produce fertilizer. Organize to have your horse manure and others in the local area to be collected by Wanless Enviro Services to help better the environment we live in.

My bin is overfull. What do I do?

Wanless ensures all customers are informed about not overfilling bins at the time of signing up to be a customer of Wanless. It is the responsibility of the business entity to communicate this message throughout your business.

A one-off extra service can be arranged for that odd occasion that your bin fills up before collection. If you find that your bin is constantly over full, simply contact your local Wanless Representative and they will be more than happy to organise a permanent increase in to your service frequency schedule.

What things can I put in my co-mingle bin?

The types of wastes that can be placed into a co-mingle bin include most product packaging including, glass bottles, tin cans, aluminium cans, and all plastic containers.

Plastics are a big portion of recyclables. To prepare plastics for recycling, rinse residue from bottles and containers (using dishwashing detergent), take off labels and lids and compress bottles.

Be sure to separate the lid from the bottle.

The truck driver did not arrive when expected. What can I do?

Wanless Enviro Services aim to achieve a reliable service. We have measures in place to ensure customers receive a reliable service, such as having trucks regularly serviced, spare trucks for when repairs are being made, and competent spare drivers.

If a driver does not arrive at the agreed time it is best to contact your Wanless Representative because there can be a number of reasons why your bin was not serviced. Such reasons include: cars being parked in front of the bin blocking access to the bin; bins not being ‘put out’ for collection; bins being too dangerous to service; peak hour traffic.

I am worried about the powerlines above my bin. Will the driver hit them?

When you become a customer of Wanless, we complete a comprehensive site evaluation that analyses all aspects of the site and documents potential hazards. Wanless will never allow a bin to be placed in a location where a hazard is present. A bin will never be collected in an area where powerlines are a danger.

Wanless Enviro Services’ drivers are trained to recognise and address hazards; they are especially trained in powerline hazards. If you are concerned that the driver may hit powerlines contact your Wanless Representative as soon as possible.

I am expecting to have extra rubbish this week. Can I get an extra service?

Yes. Contact your local Wanless Representative and they will be more than happy to organise an extra service, over and above the existing and agreed service schedule.
